My New Favorite Comic - CHEW
I can’t even begin to describe this comics story line but I love the artwork, it’s interesting and very funny. Here is the description from Image Comics website:
Tony Chu is a cop with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he’s a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn’t mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why. It’s a dirty job, and Tony has to eat terrible things in the name of justice. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the government has figured out Tony Chu’s secret. They have plans for him whether he likes it or not. Presenting a twisted new series about cops, crooks, cooks, cannibals and clairvoyants, written by JOHN LAYMAN (Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, House of M: Fantastic Four and PUFFED) with mind-blowing art by astonishing comics newcomer ROB GUILLORY.

Cool longboard my buddy painted.
This is a longboard I painted for my friend Tim. Gotta do some more of these badboys.

Looks really cool. I might give it a shot at some point if I get some free time. Even if I can’t though, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it.
My new album: Benjamin Zeman - "This Is That" [Post-punk/Rock]]
In the roughly one hour between the end of the work day and the beginning of my band’s practice time, I managed to write, play, record, mix and master these 12 songs. It took me about 4 months, in short spurts, three to four days a week. They mix a lot of musical elements I’ve learned along the way but mostly stick to an energetic Post-Punk/Rock/Pop feel.
I wanted to keep things simple, write music that was fast and short, with high energy and most importantly, music that I just let happen, without thinking about it too much. Most of the guitar and drum tracks are improv and first takes. The bass guitar took a little longer but I spent the most time working on the lyrics and recording the vocals.
